Salty Bourbon Coffee

What can be better than bourbon and coffee during the winter months? Bourbon and coffee in the same cup.  This cocktail is a perfect combination of bourbon whiskey, espresso, caramel syrup, and a bit of salt. It’s a simple drink to mix up and easily prepared for larger to sip with a group of friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cup espresso
  • ½ cup salted caramel syrup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup bourbon
  • ¾ cup heavy cream 33%
  • Powdered sugar
  • Meringues for decoration

Preparation

  1. Prepare a portion of espresso or strong instant coffee. Add caramel syrup, salt and bourbon.
  2. Heat the mixture a bit until all ingredients are melted.
  3. Pour into cups.
  4. Beat up heavy cream with powdered sugar. Put the mixture into the pastry bag and top the drink. Before serving, decorate with small meringues, cookies or whatever you like.
