Cottage Cheese Rolls with Nuts

There aren’t many things that can make your house smell as amazing as homemade buns. This nut roll recipe is no exception! They will certainly melt in your mouth and warm you from the inside out!


  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/3 cup natural yogurt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter

For the glaze:

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tbsp dark honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For filling:

  • 1 ½  glass walnuts
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½  tsp ground cinnamon


  1. Combine cottage cheese, yogurt, sugar and vanilla extract.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Knead the dough (You can do it in a food processor). Chop walnuts finely and mix with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Preheat oven to 400° F (200° C).
  4. Roll out the dough into a 18×21-inch rectangle.
  5. Melt butter and grease the surface of the dough with a brush.
  6. Sprinkle with the nut mixture and roll, starting with the long side of the rectangle.
  7. Cut the roll into 12 pieces.
  8. Bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Meantime, melt honey and sugar in a saucepan, add vanilla extract.
  10. Cool rolls for about 5 minutes and spread the honey mixture on warm rolls.
