Autumn is a season for comfort food. And if any dish could taste like an autumn, it’s this one with beef, pears, and sweet peppers. Hotpots are dishes you eat for dinner more often in autumn and winter than during other seasons. They are a perfect comfort meal that warms you up after crazy weather.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef
- 2 sweet peppers
- 3 medium sized onions
- 2 carrots
- 2 large sized hard pears
- 1 ½ cups water
- Salt, pepper
- Olive oil
Preparation
- Peel vegetables. Cut onions into half rings, carrots and sweet peppers-into straws.
- Cut beef against the grain into small portions. In a well-heated skillet with riffled surface, heat the olive oil and fry the meat.
- When the meat is almost cooked, add onions and carrots. When the vegetables are soaked with meat juice, add sweet pepper to the skillet. Fry the mixture for 3 minutes, then pour a glass of water into the frying pan and cover with the lid. Stew beef until tender. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Peel pears, remove the core and slice it. Add pears to the beef and stew for another 5-6 minutes until cooked.
