Cabbage Pie

Spread the love

This simple cabbage pie does not contain any expensive ingredients: only those that you have in the refrigerator. Moreover, such pastries go with a bang at any time of the year.

Ingredients

For filling:
3 eggs
500 g white cabbage
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste

For dough:

2 1/3 cup flour
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
1/2 tbsp sugar
8 tbsp butter
1 egg
5 1/2 tbsp sour cream
1 yolk

Preparation

1.Hard boil eggs, cool and peel. Chop cabbage and, stirring, lightly fry over low heat (about 10 minutes). Chop eggs and combine with cabbage. Salt and pepper the filling.

2.Sift flour and baking powder through a fine sieve into a large bowl. Add salt and sugar, stir. Cut chilled butter into small cubes and combine with the flour mass with your hands.

3.Add an egg lightly beaten with sour cream. Knead the dough. Shape it into a ball. Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

4.Divide dough into two unequal parts (about 3/4 and 1/4). Roll out the larger one and transfer to a baking sheet lined with baking paper. Spread the filling on top.

5.Roll out the remaining dough into a thin layer and cut into thin strips. Make a pie rack out of them. Lubricate the pie with egg yolk, beaten with a tablespoon of water. Bake for 40-45 minutes at 360° F(180°C). Serve warm.
